Upper Merrowie Creek
A number of locations along this section of Merrowie Creek, such as Tom’s Lake and Mutherumbung, have been identified as important colonial water-bird nesting sites, therefore, this area of Merrowie Creek has been selected as a regionally significant wetland. It plays an important ecological role through supporting major bird breeding events and is therefore important as the habitat for animal taxa at a vulnerable stage in their life cycles. The area is considered in a moderate condition and receives replenishment flows under the WSP and water use plans.
